Lisa Wolfe is a retired wildlife veterinarian and certified bad-ass. She is a Colorado State University DVM graduate who spent 20 years working for Colorado Parks and Wildlife as a wildlife veterinarian. She often begins stories of her work with phrases like, “we were in the bear den,” or “it was only -20 degrees F when I had to jump from the helicopter to dart a moose in 3 feet of snow.” She owns a 16 year old mustang, Aces Wild, who sometimes helps her in her work and is an amazingly reliable and steady trail horse. He placed third in the Extreme Mustang Makeover in Fort Worth, Texas under the training of Jessica Dabkowski.

Christine Olver is a partially retired veterinary clinical pathologist who has worked as a professor at Colorado State University for 30 years. Her work stories start with “I saw this amazing cell under a microscope and it has a fungus in it and it made my day,” which she finds just as exciting as jumping out of a helicopter. Christine owns a 4 year old off the track thoroughbred named Nineteen Oysters (barn name Teeno), a fiery red 7 year old mustang mare named Brigantia (celtic goddess of healing waters, and named after my dear late friend Bridget), and a 20 year old Arabian gelding named Tango (he was my daughter’s first boyfriend).
